About

Supporting Readingby Wendy Tweedie

Wendy is dyslexic and worked hard to gain her qualifications to become a teacher, then a SpLD teacher and trainer. She set up Phonic Books Ltd in 2006 with two other special needs teachers - all passionate about teaching all children to read. They worked on developing phonic reading books for young children and older struggling readers. The range of books has grown from the initial 10 titles to over 298 today and is still growing.

Wendy talks about learning to read, from developing early decoding skills through to developing reading comprehension, and how parents can support struggling and reluctant readers.
